It would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic when modernists like Olson parade their ignorance and disobedience to Rome in attacking the SSPX.
From Gloria.tvBishop Michael Olson of Fort Worth, Texas, issued a letter on 31 October about the Priestly Society of St Pius X (FSSPX), allegedly because he had received several inquiries on the matter. The statement obviously also refers to the Carmelite nuns of Arlington who have recently joined the FSSPX.
Bishop Olson categorically claims that the clergy of the FSSPX are "not" in communion with the Catholic Church and that the priests do "not" legitimately exercise their ministry within the Church.
Even Francis has allowed FSSPX clergy to hear confessions.
Monsignor Olson's argument is that the FSSPX "does not accept the authentic teaching of Vatican II".
He goes on to describe what he understands to be these authentic teachings of the Pastoral Assembly, namely "the authentic reforms of the liturgy, the teaching on religious liberty for Catholics and our separated brethren in the Protestant tradition, and also the repudiation of blame assessed against the Jewish people for the death of Jesus Christ."
Olson seems to backtrack a little from his categorical "no" when he adds that there is "no reason" for Catholics to receive the sacraments in FSSPX chapels, since priests in good standing are available.
Catholics who wish to attend the Roman Mass should go to the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter (FSSP) in Fort Worth.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
