The Medieval Disaster You Didn't Learn About in History Class...

The night of the 25th of November 1120, saw a disaster described as the medieval Titanic, a tragedy that would spectacularly change the course of European history. The White Ship cast off from the French port of Barfleur, carrying about 300 passengers. On board were numerous Norman big-shots along with 17-year-old William Adelin, the only legitimate son of King Henry II and heir to the English throne. As the following morning dawned, the ship had sunk below the freezing water, drowning almost everyone on board and leaving just one survivor, a lowly butcher from Rouen, to bear witness to the disaster. Welcome to Medieval Madness.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
