The first King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II


King Umberto I, the second King of Italy from known as 'the Good' (il Buono) for his generosity and good humor, was king from 9 January 1878 until July 29, 1900.


Victor Emmanuel III, third King of Italy from 29 July 1900 to 9 May 1946. Also, the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1936--41 and King of the Albanians from 1939--43. He abdicated in 1946 and died in 1947 in exile in Egypt.
