Collect of St Sixtus I, Pope & Martyr ~ Indulgenced on the Saint's Feast

According to the Apostolic Penitentiary, a partial indulgence is granted to those who on the feast of any Saint recite in his honour the oration of the Missal or any other approved by legitimate Authority.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto thee.
Let us pray.
O God, who didst firmly establish Thy Church upon the rock of the Apostle and didst deliver her from the dreadful powers of hell, grant, we beseech Thee that through the intercession of Blessed Sixtus, Thy Martyr & Supreme Pontiff, she mayest remain faithful to Thy truth so as to be always safe under Thy protection.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Nota bene - St Sixtus is not celebrated on the Universal Calendar, but according to the Roman Martyrology, today is his Feast Day. The Collect is taken from the Common of Martyr Bishops.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
