Why is La Sagrada Familia Not Finished?

A look at the engineering challenges in finishing the Minor Basilica.

La Sagrada Familia is an architectural marvel located in the heart of Barcelona, Spain. This basilica, designed by the legendary architect Antoni Gaudi, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. La Sagrada Familia construction began in 1882 and is still ongoing today. The basilica is known for its intricate and ornate details and is a fusion of Gothic and Art Nouveau styles. La Sagrada Familia's most striking feature is its 18 towering spires, each representing one of Jesus' disciples. The spires are ornately carved and sculptured, and they rise high above the city, allowing visitors to see the basilica from almost anywhere in Barcelona. The basilica's interior is equally stunning, with colorful stained glass windows and intricate mosaics covering the walls and ceiling. The use of natural light is one of the most fascinating aspects of La Sagrada Familia. The basilica was designed by Gaudi to be bathed in natural light, and the stained glass windows and skylights inside create a beautiful and serene atmosphere. Finally, La Sagrada Familia is a truly remarkable architectural masterpiece that is a must-see for anyone visiting Barcelona.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
