Why Did the 101st Say They Didn’t Need Rescuing by Patton at Bastogne?
'Blood & Guts' Patton. 'His guts & our blood' as the men said.
Despite being completely surrounded at Bastogne, no member of the 101st Airborne Division ever agreed that they needed rescuing by Patton's Army. Why?
