Eastern Rite - Prophet
Today is the Feast of Hieromartyr Polycarp of Smyrna, Bishop of Smyrna and of Venerable Gorgonia the Righteous, sister of St. Gregory the Theologian.

A Prophet is an Old Testament saint who anticipated Christ. They remained in the Limbo of the Just after death, until Christ Descended into Hell and freed them. Both East and West honour them.
