AI and the Role of Technology in Our Relationship With God | Fr. Anselm Ramelow, O.P.

Questions of technology occupy the contemporary imagination, and much of this imagination is surprisingly religious. While we do not tend to connect technology with religion, on closer inspection it turns out that our use of technology is never outside of our relationship with God. We find it in the biblical narrative as well as in modern attempt to replace God with the help of our tools. With the advent of A.I., technology we witness a reversal, as our machines ironically start to turn into a god of its own kind. Fr. Anselm will explore these topics and see how a Catholic understanding can put these relationships in their right order.
