'Dilbert' Cartoonist Scott Adams Says He'll Embrace Christianity

Let's pray that he doesn't just "embrace Christianity", but that he embraces the fullness of the Faith in the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church!

The cartoonist, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2025, recently revealed his openness to Christianity as he said his prognosis was grim.

Scott Adams, the creator of the popular Dilbert cartoon, said recently in a video podcast that he will embrace Christianity as his life nears its end.

Adams, 68, speaking on the January 4 episode of his podcast Real Coffee with Scott Adams, said he intends to convert to Christianity before he dies. His intention is a fruit of the suggestion of his Christian friends and followers, he said, who reminded him that there was still time to embrace Jesus before his death.

"They usually just let that sit, because that's not an argument I want to have," said Adams.

He described himself as someone who has "not been a believer," but who had respect for Christians.

"But I also have respect for any Christian who goes out of their way to try to convert me," he said, adding with a laugh, "because how would I believe you wouldn’t believe your own religion if you’re not trying to convert me?"

"So I have great respect for people who care enough that they want me to convert, and then go out of their way to try to convince me," he said. "So, you're going to hear for the first time today, that it is my plan to convert."

Adams remarked that he "still has time," to become a Christian before he dies, and that "my understanding is, you're never too late."

This late in life conversion would also serve to resolve any skepticism Adams has about reality, he said. These doubts "would certainly be instantly answered if I wake up in heaven."

Adams said he believes the "dominant Christian theory" would mean he would be in heaven if he "had a good life" and embraced the faith.

"And so, to my Christian friend: yes. It's coming. So you don't need to talk me into it," he said. "I am now convinced that the risk-reward is completely smart. If it turns out that there's nothing there, I've lost nothing. But I've respected your wishes, and I like doing that."

Adams continued, "If it turns out there is something there, and the Christian model is the closest to it, I win."

"I promise you, that I will convert."

In a post on X after the podcast posted, Adams said that he would be keeping the matter private.

"I appreciate the outpouring of suggestions and questions, but what happens next is between me and Jesus," he said.

In May 2025, Adams announced that he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. At the beginning of 2026, Adams said his chances of recovery are "essentially zero" and that he is now paralyzed from the waist down.

January, said Adams, will “be a month of transition one way or the other.”
