The Anarchy is a often overlooked civil war in Medieval England and Normandy during the mid twelfth century. A wrestle for the throne of England between King Stephen and Empress Matilda it saw a somewhat widespread breakdown of law and order in the land and resulted in almost twenty years of chaos.
