“Pope St Pius X, born Joseph Sarto in 1835, rose from humble poverty to the papacy. As the Pope of the Eucharist, he encouraged daily Communion, lowered the age for First Communion, and restored Gregorian chant to the heart of Catholic worship.
He also defended the faith with courage, condemning Modernism as the ‘synthesis of all heresies’ in his Encyclical Pascendi Dominici Gregis. He promoted the philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas, initiated the first Code of Canon Law, and lived a life of humility, often repeating, ‘I was born poor, I lived poor, I will die poor.’
After the Messina earthquake, he opened the Apostolic Palace to refugees, showing his charity as a true father. He died in 1914 at the start of World War I, offering his life for peace, and was canonised in 1954.
On his feast, we recall his urgent call: Instaurare Omnia in Christo — To Restore all things in Christ.
✝️ Pope St. Pius X, pray for us.”

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
