King St Louis IX ~ From Crown to Cross | Living Faith as a King

A sermon for today. Please remember to say 3 Hail Marys for the Priest.

Today’s homily for the Feast of St. Louis IX, King of France reflects on the parable of the talents and the life of one of the greatest Catholic monarchs. Crowned at just 12, St. Louis IX lived with humility, prayer, and integrity—feeding the poor, founding hospitals, and ruling with justice. Though his Crusades ended in hardship, he never compromised his faith or word. His reign ushered in France’s golden age, including the building of Sainte-Chapelle to house Christ’s Crown of Thorns. St. Louis IX reminds us that true success is not worldly victory but holiness, faith, and generosity with the gifts God has given us. 🙏 Pray with us: May we, like St. Louis, use our talents for God’s glory.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
