In this video, I address the famous Essay "Ur-Fascism" by the Italian Philosopher Umberto Eco. Eco's essay on Fascism still remains to this day one of the most famous references for understanding and identifying Fascism, particularly for those with a Leftist political outlook. But is Eco really a reliable figure when it comes to Fascism? That I will explore today, and showcase why Ur-Fascism should not be taken seriously from an academic and comparative perspective on Fascism.
