Despite all evidence to the contrary, Christ is still King! He is King of all men, societies, and nations regardless of what they think or believe!
From One Peter FiveBy Josué Luis Hernández
Crisp air, falling leaves
A languid sun retires into a golden sea
As the gentle wind begins its course beneath
A melancholy moon
And all the world withdraws in silence
Amidst the richly hued pageantry of violence
What worldly hopes and dreams lay piling
Under autumn’s somber swoon
Another thwarted soul caresses
The rigid wood that on his shoulder presses
As the perfidious ones who first rejected
Once more begin to scheme
And with eyes fixed on the stars, confesses
Exhales a breath of sweet contentment
He whispers, along with all the heavens
Jesus Christ is King!
(Dedicated to the Christians in the Holy Land who have been the victims of war crimes, and to the tens of thousands of forgotten innocent men, women and children who have suffered and died alongside them.)
As the days once more begin to shorten and the greater light withdraws into its autumnal languor, we find ourselves living through a moment of profound civilizational darkness that, evidently, very few are able to properly appreciate. Many, it is quite true, increasingly have a sense that something has gone terribly wrong, but it is beyond the grasp of most to understand the depth to which society has been plunged, for we are no longer aware of the heights from which it has fallen.
I do not wish to go into a long-winded exposition of the cause of our woes as I have done elsewhere (here, here & here). I merely wish to state the following as bluntly and forcefully as this short reflection will allow. In summary, Christ is King. In spite of what our current masters may have us all believe and in spite of what our tired and defeated world continues to concede, Christ is still King. And they, just as much as we, are bound and subject to His rule.
In spite of how polite society may expect us to behave or what it conceives to be appropriate activities for the public square, Christ is King. And we all shall, in the end, have to hold an account of how we acted in accordance with that fact. In spite of a myriad of officially enacted laws that oppress the common man and fly in the face of God’s decrees — and the ‘respectable’ institutions from which they issue and are enforced — Christ is King. We shan’t be let off the hook for the false laws we upheld and subjected others to because it just so happened to be the comfortable and expedient thing to do. In spite of our Liberal political and economic order, Christ is King. Liberal sentiments affirming religious indifferentism and false notions of human rights, and deterministic (so called) economic laws of utilitarian efficiency, do not trump Christ’s social kingship. In spite of incessant propaganda vehemently justifying the murder of innocents, be they the victims of infanticide or of heinous war crimes, Christ is King, and the blood of the innocent will continue to cry out to Him for vengeance.
In spite of the loud screeching of the mob and in spite of the popular musings of fools, Christ is King. In spite of the deafening cries and self-serving protestations of the enemies of God, Christ is King. In spite of the crazed howls of the sodomites and degenerates, Christ is King. In spite of the silence of our fathers, Christ is King. In spite of the rising tide of revolutionary fervor that opposes and usurps man’s headship over his family and banishes the mother from her privileged abode, Christ is King. In spite of our own sins, personal shortcomings and failures, Christ is King.
In spite of all the rancorous schism, Christ is King. In spite of all the putrid heresies, Christ is King. In spite of all the callous apostasy, Christ is King. In spite of all the sinister plotting of the fallen angels and men of rebellion who have the devil for their father, Christ remains King and all of heaven and earth, and hell below, is subject to His scepter and rule. There are no exceptions. There is no hidden or autonomous realm that falls outside of or escapes His jurisdiction. Christ is King of kings and Lord of all.
I will close my thoughts by offering the following proposal. Amidst the increasingly frantic media deluge regarding the current political cycle, I urge all of you to resist the temptation to be swept up by the spectacle. Choose instead to remain grounded in the truth and reality of the social kingship of Christ. Make use of, if and when you must, the available remedial actions through the current institutional framework. But do so soberly, refusing to allow yourself to become a cheap pawn within the ruthless machinery of Leviathan or to grant the current election an importance which it simply does not have.
We must, if we are to at last move past our current impotent state, begin to radically reimagine our understanding of politics. The seismic perceptual shift needed to properly and effectively reorient our approach towards the temporal order will only begin to take place once we successfully redirect our attention away from Washington and back towards those things which we actually have sway and influence over. Having, presumably, our lives and homes in order, we must from there proceed to rebuild our ruined commonwealth. Rebuild our neighborhoods, rebuild our towns and institutions from the ground up while also creating new associations and social structures along the way. In short, rebuilding civilization. That is, rebuilding Christendom.
It is, however, a critical mistake to believe that we must first ask permission before taking up the temporal sword and fulfilling the proper role we have set out for us as laymen. It is to this mission of sacralizing society which we have been called. We must, likewise, vigorously resist the urge to act only within the bounds of our current political framework and, most especially, to accept the insidious Liberal presuppositions that it entails, which form but the iron bars of a prison cell created for the very purpose of containing the threat of a galvanized Christianity. To this end, let us awaken within ourselves the noble desire to embrace our sacred duty and with it also to awaken the worst fears of our (sure to be indignant) political masters, as we gird ourselves to begin a new and long overdue reconquest under the banner of our rightful King.
¡Viva Cristo Rey!

However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
