The EU and I ~ How I Went From Supporting to Hating It

The readers of this blog undoubtedly know that I despise the European Union. I usually refer to it in terms such as 'fascistic', 'micromanaging nanny state', or 'dictatorial Leviathan'. Therefore, it might come as a shock to learn that some 40 years ago, I was an enthusiastic supporter of the project.

So, how did I go from being an enthusiastic supporter to wanting to bin the EU?

My original enthusiasm stemmed from my membership in the Pan-European Union (then headed by HIRH Archduke Otto, my daughter's godfather) and what was then known as Paneuropäische Aktion Österreich, now the Paneuropa-Bewegung-Österreich, (headed by a member of the Princely House of Liechtenstein) both of which were committed to a Europe, 'Christian, Traditional, and Free from the Atlantic to the Urals', a vision I completely supported.

However, over the next decades, I watched as what I, and many others, had hoped would become a confederation of free and sovereign nation-states united in trade and commerce, with each retaining its culture and religion, indeed a modern recreation of Christendom. Instead, it has become the nanny-state Leviathan now called the European Union.

It has become anti-Christian, anti-European, and anti-Westerm. If it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck!

Remember what Lev Bronstein (Leon Trotsky) said: "The Federated Republic of Europe - the United States of Europe - that is what must be. National autonomy no longer suffices. Economic evolution demands the abolition of national frontiers. If Europe is to remain split into national groups, then Imperialism will recommence its work. Only a Federated Republic of Europe can give peace to the world."

The aim of the elitist Eurocrats of course is not simply a 'United States of Europe'. It is to make the USofE a constituent part of the One World Government they envision. Unfortunately, the Church, which given its doctrine of subsidiarity, should be a bulwark of resistance to such a totalitarian Leviathan has folded under Francis, who famously said '... [W]e must obey international institutions. That is why the United Nations were created.'

Thus, I have gone from being a fan of what the founders hoped the EU WOULD become to being committed to the destruction of the Nanny State Leviathan it HAS become.
