I stopped at our local grocery a while ago. My total was $10.11. I gave the checker a $20.00 bill, a dime, and a penny. She then turned to a calculator and crunched some numbers.
I was a bit confused, but I became even more confused when she turned back to her drawer and began to count out bills and change!
I said 'I thought the total was $10.11'. She nodded. I said 'I gave you $20.11. A ten dollar bill will do it'.
After thinking for a second, she handed me my ten dollars.
I know a lot of young people no longer know how to count change, but $20.11 minus $10.11 is a no-brainer!!!
