Biography On The Parents Of Sisi - Not A Happy Marriage


Maximilian Joseph in Bavaria was born in Bamberg on December 4, 1808, and died in Munch on November 15, 1888. He was the only child of Duke Pius August in Bavaria and Princess Amalia Louise of Arenberg. His wife, Marie Ludovika Wilhelmina , was born in Munich on August 30, 1808, and also died there on January 26, 1892. She was the fifth daughter of King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria and his second wife, Caroline of Baden. The couple is best known for being the father of Austrian Empress Elisabeth, and the grandfather of the Belgian Queen Elisabeth.
