This video is an exploration of the tomb of King Edward I in Westminster Abbey. It is an unusual tomb and the treatment of the king's body in the middle ages was unusual too. When the tomb was opened in 1774 the remains of the king were found dressed in his coronation robes and wearing replicas of the coronation regalia.

Hey Jovan, nice blog, hope all is well with you. Anyroad, coronations: you're up on these things so what do you think/know about the Crown of Thorns being chosen by the Romans to place on
ReplyDeleteHis brow because of the story of Adam and Eve being driven out of Garden of Eden to labor by the sweat of their brow amongst thorns (I'm sure they were up on the local lore) and inadvertently fulfilled a deeper meaning of Our Lord being the New Adam. I mean Christ sweat blood in the garden then the crown of thorns then St Veronica wiping his face as He labored under the cross. Is it just my notion or is there something more written along these line?
