God's Will

Lesson Five of God and His Creation, with Fr Gregory Pine, OP, BA, STL, Assistant Director for Campus Outreach at the Thomistic Institute.

“Lord, what wilt Thou have me do? Behold the true sign of a totally perfect soul: when one has reached the point of giving up his will so completely that he no longer seeks , expects or desires to do ought but that which God wills.” -St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Our only claims on God are claims founded on what He has first given us. And so in this sense, we say that His mercy is the very pattern of His justice. In the end, we gaze steadily into the mystery of His will knowing that He is good, that He is loving, that He is just, and that He is merciful, for God is love—and that is a reality excelling our hearts.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
