Bishop Rifan, the Personal Apostolic Administrator of Saint John Mary Vianney, is turning 75. How will Leo handle the succession?
From Rorate Cæli
“- Bishop Fernando Arêas Rifan, titular of Cedamusa, apostolic administrator of the personal apostolic administration of São João Maria Vianney, Brazil.” (Bollettino)
This is a most crucial meeting.
Bishop Rifan is turning 75, and remains the only bishop in the world, in completely regular situation, exclusively dedicated to the Traditional Latin Mass. He represents, in a sense, not only his own priests and faithful, but, indirectly, all those of us who love the Traditional Mass.
John Paul II erected the Apostolic Administration in 2002 to welcome the priests and faithful of Campos, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who remained attached to the Traditional Roman Rite. It remains the only ecclesial body and local Church exclusively attached to it.
The way His Holiness deals with his succession is extremely important, and a crucial indicator for the future.

Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
