A migrant crime in Nuneaton has ignited public protests against illegal immigration, with flag-waving demonstrators calling for stricter measures.
Warwick Warwick Crown Court saw Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, plead guilty on Friday, November 21st, to sexually abusing a child under the age of 13 on July 22. He had previously denied charge of rape.
Mulakhil appeared with co-defendant Mohammad Kabir, 23, who denied all charges. Both defendants, Afghan nationals with no fixed address, were assisted by interpreters.
In August, the incident sparked large protests outside Nuneaton Town Hall in the English West Midlands, with anti-immigration demonstrators waving St George’s flags and Union Jacks while chanting slogans against migration. Mulakhil and Kabir are now due to face trial on January 26.
The case further impacts the already bad reputation of Afghan migrants who—like Syrians—have been linked to multiple stabbings, shootings and explosions across Western Europe.
