In this talk, Michael T. Guidice introduces the Catholic Land Movement and its deep connection to Distributism, Catholic Social Teaching, and Rerum Novarum. He explains how these principles call Catholics to build strong, faith-filled communities rooted in the land, emphasizing our duties to one another and the importance of restoring a just economic and social order.
Following Michael, Dr Alex Plato (Department of Philosophy) dives into the philosophical foundations of Distributism, exploring its impact on society and how it can be practically implemented today. Dr Plato examines how Catholic social philosophy answers modern economic and social challenges.
After both talks, the speakers engaged with the audience in a thoughtful Q&A session, addressing practical questions about how realistic these principles are.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
