The musings and meandering thoughts of a crotchety old man as he observes life in the world and in a small, rural town in South East Nebraska. My Pledge-Nulla dies sine linea-Not a day with out a line.

On the First American Pope: Where do we Stand?
Back stateside after having covered the Conclave in Rome, Michael Matt presents a measured Traditional Catholic response to the election of the new pope.
Is Pope Leo XIV a “traditionalist”? No, he’s not.
Will he denounce the revolution of Vatican II? Likely not.
So, what are Traditionalists to make of Pope Leo XIV?
Plus, recently unearthed RTV footage of the Synod on Synodality captures an interesting moment wherein the entire case of the Latin Mass was presented to the man who would become the 267th Successor of St. Peter. What’s the takeaway?
Plus, vintage words from Robert Prevost (future Pope Leo XIV) on everything from Communism to gender ideology to the importance of Tradition and the need to repent of sin.
Also, Donald Trump breaks with Israel’s war machine and brokers a peace deal with Iran. Bibi is reportedly furious (oh well), and the ridiculous charge of antisemitism leveled against anyone who opposes Israel’s war has finally been laid to rest. . . unless, that is, you’re prepared to call President Trump an antisemite, too.
And, finally, Saturday Night Live nails it on the problem with "woke Catholics".

Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
