Spanish Government ‘Doesn’t Know’ How Much Money It Gives to Hamas-Tied UNRWA

Obviously, Don Palayo and the other heroes of the Reconquista died in vain, as the Spanish Government is now funding the jihad. May God forgive their blindness.

Spain was the only major Western nation not to suspend funds to the controversial UN agency.

Spain's Spain’s foreign minister has refused to say how much money the country has given the controversial UNRWA agency, despite widespread reports of the group’s links to Hamas.

According to documents obtained by Spanish media outlet El Debate, Spain has failed to record the specific amounts paid to the group in recent years, despite concerns that workers for the UN agency took part in the worst anti-Jewish massacre since the Holocaust.

Following the October 7th, 2023 attack by Hamas—which killed 1,200 Israelis and led to 250 being taken hostage—most Western countries suspended funding to UNRWA. Israel has classified the group as a terrorist organisation. However, Spain remains the only major Western country to maintain its financial relationship with the organisation.

While Spain’s Foreign Ministry states it does not know the exact amount donated since 2019, it estimates that Spain has given over €190 million to the organisation since 2001. The government of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has defended these contributions, claiming UNRWA plays an important role in helping displaced Palestinians.

This is despite the fact that in July, the Israeli government reported that 108 UNRWA employees had ties to Hamas, and Israeli military aerial footage showed the use of UNRWA facilities by terrorists in Rafah.

The controversy deepened last week as UNRWA admitted that Fatah Sharif, a Hamas commander killed in Lebanon, was an agency employee until his suspension earlier this year.

While most Western nations have halted their funding to UNRWA, Spain’s socialist government passed a proposal urging the international community to respect its commitments to the agency and to increase financial support. The proposal, backed by Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez, went against the stance of many Western countries, including the U.S. and UK—although Britain’s new left-wing government later restored funding.

The revelation comes as Israel bans UN Secretary-General António Guterres from entering the country, accusing him of turning the UN into an  “anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli body” which works as “a tool for Hamas propaganda.”

After Guterres failed to condemn Iran for launching a missile strike at Israel, foreign minister Israel Katz said:

A secretary-general who gives backing to terrorists, rapists, and murderers from Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and now Iran—the mothership of global terror—will be remembered as a stain on the history of the U.N.
