Mr Rôteau has some thoughts on the difficulty of obedience in the Church today.

There is an internal war against denial within each one of us. We receive input from our senses, which is so frightening that we begin to doubt its veracity. And the perpetrators are most happy to reinforce this with a gaslighting that we should NOT believe our ‘lying’ eyes (ears etc.). In addition to this struggle with the reality that confronts us, we are tormented with guilt over a deeply engrained call to obedience. It doesn’t “feel” right to resist an authority figure. It is exhausting and seems somehow disloyal to constantly evaluate the words and actions emanating from a source that is supposed to be seen as legitimate. It is so much EASIER to relegate ALL responsibility to this entity and claim not only ignorance, but also the inability to reason the details for ourselves. We crave security and deniability for our personal actions and inactions. And when someone PLAYS on that insecurity, we BECOME our own worst enemy.
They are changing the religion that was taught to us. Christ says that we are to pick up our cross daily and follow Him. Human Nature abhors suffering. While ironically MAKING us suffer, they peddle a religion of social justice that alleges to alleviate ALL suffering. Officially, “Liberation Theology” is condemned… with WORDS. Meanwhile, every ACTION taken marches us by a nose ring toward “diversity, equity, inclusion” … and just as in the secular (Deep State) that alleges that socialism (communism) has not been implemented efficiently enough yet, we are told by Deep Church that “authentic” principles of the Second Vatican Council need to be followed more closely. That’s the PUSH. If you’re paying attention they have articulated it at the close of Synod proceedings. They ALSO reiterated that priestly ordination is a male domain, and that Freemasonry is not compatible with Catholicism… in all likelihood to blunt your defensiveness. The stick and the carrot. And just like every communist regime in history… the diversity, equity, and inclusion do not ultimately extend beyond the Elite who portend to be our “rescuers.”
I recently encountered a person who is a veritable poster child (ironically) for “Inoculation Against Truth.” A story about a nun called Sister Miriam was posted by a Facebook group called (if I remember correctly) Proud to be Catholic or something similar. It had appeared in my news feed. That nun was instrumental in discovering the function of DNA the story told us. Commenting on the post I quipped, “If only we could call her back to tutor Jorge Bergoglio on the function of mRNA.” I was excoriated in a response by a woman who had a frame around her profile photo that said “stay home… get vaccinated.” With exactly OPPOSITE understanding of Church Teaching and Scripture she scolded me that I was the one who needed to learn the meaning of *papal infallibility* and *the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church* !!! How does one undo that level of confusion? The pope said that we had a moral duty to immorally (using technology obtained from killing babies, which he also says that we’re too obsessed about) get jabbed to save the occupants of the planet. Then he REMOVED a bishop for guiding HIS flock against that jabbing immorality.
Meanwhile, the raison d'être for the Church… administering the Fountain of Grace (The Sacraments) was abdicated in servile submission to the State. The flock was abandoned. The clergy (almost universally) proclaimed their own irrelevance worldwide instead of proclaiming the Gospel. It was the antithesis of The Great Commission, demonstrated to the Non-Believing world with the instantaneous efficiency of Modern communications technology. If you were wondering what Mass Apostasy looks like, this was it.
There is an ENORMITY confronting us. Yet in the MIDST of it, people are redirected to FAUX crises. Catholic folks should be putting on their Greta Thunberg face and shouting “HOW DARE YOU?!!!” at Jorge Bergoglio. But instead, even those who muster the courage to proclaim the Truth, eventually backpedal, racked with knee-jerk guilt over “perceived disobedience” or fear over unimaginable consequences yet to befall them.

Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
