Pray This Powerful Litany of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus

This is one of only six Litanies approved for public recitation, along with the Litanies of the Saints, of Loreto, of the Holy Name of Jesus, of the Sacred Heart, and of St Joseph.

This litany of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus reminds us of the great sacrifice of the cross.

One of the earliest devotions in the Church was a devotion to the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Much of this devotion derives from the biblical account of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and the blood that flowed from his side.

Here is a litany of the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ that was approved by Pope John XXIII on February 24, 1960.

Let us pray;

Almighty and eternal God, Thou hast appointed Thine only-begotten Son the Redeemer of the world and willed to be appeased by his blood. Grant, we beg of Thee, that we may worthily adore this price of our salvation and through its power be safeguarded from the evils of the present life so that we may rejoice in its fruits forever in heaven.
