Dedications of the Days of the Week

Each day of the week is traditionally dedicated to one or two aspects of the Faith. Below, I have listed the dedications and the prayers for each aspect to which they are dedicated.

Sunday: The Resurrection & the Holy and Undivided Trinity

Collect for Easter:

God, who on this day, through thy Only-begotten Son, overcame death, and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: as by thy anticipating grace, thou breathest good desires into our hearts, so also, by thy gracious help, bring them to good effect.
Through the same Jesus Christ, thy Son, Our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Collect for Trinity Sunday:

Almighty and everlasting God, you have given thy servants in the confession of the true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the Eternal Trinity, and to adore the unity in the power of thy Majesty; grant, that by steadfastness in this faith we may ever be defended from all adversities.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Monday: The Holy Ghost & the Souls in Purgatory

Collect for Pentecost:

O God, Who on this day didst teach the hearts of thy faithful people, by the sending to them the light of thine Holy Spirit, grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Collect for All Souls:

O God, who art thyself at once the Maker and the Redeemer of all thy faithful ones, grant unto the souls of thy servants and handmaids remission of all their sins, making of our entreaties unto our great Father a mean whereby they may have that forgiveness which they have ever hoped for.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.
R. Amen

Tuesday: The Holy Angels

Collect for St Michael and All Angels:

O God, Who hast ordained and constituted the services of angels and men in a wonderful order, mercifully grant that as thy holy angels alway do thee service in heaven, so, by thy appointment, they may succour and defend us on earth.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Wednesday: St. Joseph

Collect for St Joseph:

Help us, we beseech thee, O Lord, for the sake of the Husband of thy most holy Mother, that what we cannot for ourselves obtain, Thou mayest grant us at his petition.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.
R. Amen

Thursday: The Blessed Sacrament

Collect for Corpus Christi:

O God, under a marvellous sacrament you have left us the memorial of thy Passion; grant us, we beseech thee, so to venerate the sacred mysteries of thy Body and Blood, that we may ever perceive within us the fruit of thy Redemption.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.
R. Amen

Friday Christ's Passion and His Sacred Heart

Prayer for Good Friday:

Christ became obedient for us unto death, even to the death of the cross.
in secret
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation: But deliver us from evil. Amen.

Look down, we beseech thee, O Lord, on this thy family, for which our Lord Jesus Christ did not hesitate to be delivered up into the hands of wicked men, and to suffer the torment of the Cross.

Who with thee liveth and reigneth, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.
R. Amen

Collect for the Sacred Heart:

O God, who hast suffered the Heart of thy Son to be wounded by our sins, and in that very Heart hast bestowed on us the abundant riches of thy love: grant that the devout homage of our hearts, which we render unto him, may of thy mercy be deemed a recompence acceptable in thy sight.
Through the same Jesus Christ, thy Son, Our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Saturday: The Blessed Virgin and her Immaculate Heart.

Collect from the Saturday Office of Our Lady:

Grant, we beseech thee, O Lord God, unto all thy servants, that they may remain continually in the enjoyment of soundness both of mind and body, and by the glorious intercession of the Blessed Mary, always a Virgin, may be delivered from present sadness, and enter into the joy of thine eternal gladness.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity o

Collect for the Immaculate Heart

Almighty everlasting God, who hast prepared in the heart of Blessed Virgin Mary a worthy dwelling of the Holy Ghost, grant favourably to us that we may keep the feast of the same Immaculate Heart devoutly, and may be able to live according to thy heart.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
