Stand Alone Pages on 'Musings of an Old Curmudgeon'

I Missed Her Majesty's Birthday!

For some reason I had it in my head that Her Majesty was born on St George's Day, which is tomorrow. As I prepare to type a post commemorating her 92nd birthday, I suddenly realised that it was actually yesterday.

I know she'll never know, but I am sorry I missed it. I was a bit lazy this year and forgot to send her a birthday card, but her loyal subject, the Old Curmudgeon,  still wants to wish a belated birthday to Her Majesty the Queen, born 21 April 1926 as Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, Her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth of York, and reigning these last 56 years as Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom, Canada and Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith!

God Save the Queen!

God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the Queen!

O Lord our God arise,
Scatter her enemies,
And make them fall:
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix:
God save us all.

Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign:
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
