The Great Divide: Bishop Barron’s Clash with Zohran Mamdani

From Purely Catholic

Zohran Mamdani was just sworn in as the Mayor of New York City, and he’s already making headlines with his talk of the “warmth of collectivism.” Bishop Robert Barron took issue with this statement and issued a long tweet condemning the atrocities of the 20th century, which he believes came at the hands of collectivist ideology. Catholics on Twitter have been split. Some wholeheartedly support the Bishop's comments, while others think he’s wrong, and the Catholic Church would actually support what Mayor Mamdani has advocated for. So let’s take a closer look and see what this is all about.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
