Charles Edward Stuart – Bonnie Prince Charlie After the Battle of Culloden


Charles Edward Louis Philip Casimir Stuart was born on 31 December 1720 in Rome and died in Italy on 31 January 1788. He was the son of James Francis Edward Stuart, the exiled pretender to the throne of Great Britain, and the Polish Princess Maria Clementina Sobieska. He gained fame as Bonnie Prince Charlie after his attempted invasion of Britain.
