Collect of Bld Christopher Wharton, Martyr (See Note)

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto thee.
Let us pray.
Almighty and merciful God, who didst bring Thy Martyr blessed Christopher to overcome the torments of his passion, grant that we, who celebrate the anniversary of his triumph, may remain invincible under Thy protection against the snares of the enemy.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Nota Bene - I don't know if the indulgence applies to the Collect of a Beatus, but it can't hurt to honour Bld Christopher, one of the Douai Martyrs, 158 Priests trained in the English College at Douai, France, who were executed by the English heretics between 1577 and 1680.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
