Bot Censorship

I recently shared a post that you may have seen, entitled 'St Hubert Against the Militant Vegetarians. When I first tried to share it the title was the original from the blog I was sharing it from. The title referenced a certain political party which has been banned in Germany since 1945 and the opening sentence of my introduction included the name of the leader of that party.

Whilst it showed on my personal wall, within seconds I received a notification on one of the groups in which I had shared it that said it violated FB's 'community standards'.

I PMed the administrator of that group telling him what had happened. He could not even see the post, only receiving a notice which said, 'The following goes against our Community Standards on dangerous individuals and organisations' and 'We are unable to show content that goes against our Community Standards on dangerous individuals and organisations'.

I edited the post to remove those references as you can see above and shared it with absolutely no problem. I also deleted the original from my own wall and replaced it with the edited one to avoid future recriminations.

It was obviously a decision made by a bot that spots certain words and bans the post regardless of what its content actually is. The post was holding that party and its leader up to ridicule, not in any way supporting them.
