The Dirty 5 Dozen Ride Again!

Blase Cupich and his liberal, anti-Catholic modernist buddies hold an invitation-only event to plan the destruction of the Church.

From One Mad Mom

This should strike fear in all of the faithful Catholics in the United States: Cardinal Cupich and club just had an invitation-only event featuring the sixty bishops who voted against discussing Eucharistic Coherence, the liberals from Rome steering the “synodal process”, and the liberal Catholic media. They had to fess up because JD Flynn and The Pillar caught wind of it, but clearly, Cardinal “We should all get together as brother bishops and discuss” Cupich has now become Cardinal “It hasn’t been going too well so we need to spin the narrative” Cupich.

CHICAGO — A group of about 70 cardinals, bishops and theologians gathered privately for two days here from March 25-26 for conversations focused on how the U.S. Catholic Church can better support the agenda of Pope Francis.

Translation? “We need to make it look like we are the loyal bishops and paint everyone else like they are disobedient schismatics. We need to work the synodal process like Germany.”

Through a series of keynote presentations and panel discussions centered on tracing the roots of Francis’ papacy to the 1962-65 Second Vatican Council, invited participants also considered the opposition the pope continues to face from some quarters of the U.S. church, more than nine years after his March 2013 election.

Some quarters? Uh, let’s see. I believe that is the 75% of bishops and cardinals who don’t agree with the positions of Cardinal Cupich, James Martin, SJ, Cardinal Tobin, and the rest of their ilk on sodomy, same-sex marriage and abortion. They absolutely do not want those percentages known because then the faithful who don’t pay attention to the elitist politics of Cardinal Cupich’s people might just come to think, “Huh, maybe this isn’t exactly a schismatic group when the vast majority of our bishops and cardinals feel this way.”

Honduran Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga, one of the attendees, told NCR that part of the purpose of the event was to “understand the spirit of what they call the ‘opposition.”

Why did the Dirty 5 Dozen call in Maradiaga? Because he’s one of them: https://www.complicitclergy.com/2021/10/22/cardinal-maradiaga-the-scandals-surrounding-one-of-pope-francis-closest-allies/

“We have this what they call ‘opposition’ to the pope. It’s trying to build walls, going backwards — looking to the old liturgy or maybe things before Vatican II,” said Rodriguez, who is also the coordinator of the pope’s advisory Council of Cardinals.

The only people trying to “build walls” are the liberals who are trying their darndest to put the faithful Catholic bishops in a prison. This has nothing to do with the “old liturgy” or “things before Vatican II.” This has everything to do with the Dirty 5 Dozen trying to rewrite as many of the Church’s doctrines as they can before they die. You’d think that these guys would take a look in the mirror and realize they are not going to live forever, then they would try to make amends for all the souls they have damaged, but I’d suppose they’d have to believe in the eternal soul to come to that conclusion.

“Vatican II is unknown by many of the young generation,” said the cardinal. “So, it’s necessary to come back and to see that all the reforms of Pope Francis are rooted in Vatican II.”

The event, which carried the title “Pope Francis, Vatican II, and the Way Forward,” was co-organized by Loyola University Chicago’s Hank Center for the Catholic Intellectual Heritage, Boston College’s Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life, and Fordham University’s Center on Religion and Culture. Also helping with the organization was NCR political columnist Michael Sean Winters.

It should have been titled “Pope Francis, Vatican II and the Way We Can Manipulate Everything So We Can Keep Living High on the Hog While the Faithful Starve for the True Faith”, but I guess that would be a little too honest. I will say it again, the Dirty 5 Dozen are elitist catholics (intentional small “c”) who want to keep hobnobbing with elitist liberals. This has zero to do with Vatican II, the Faith, and less than zero to do with anything resembling Truth. These cardinals and bishops are doing nothing to build the Church in the U.S. They are closing churches in their diocese at lightning speed.

The conversations were held under the “Chatham House Rule,” meaning attendees agreed they could speak afterwards about the contents of the discussions but not reveal who had made any particular comment, with hopes of fostering a more open and forthright atmosphere.”

Gag! If one more of these knuckleheads tries to use the term “transparency” please pull up this article where they tried to whitewash their secrecy with “Chatham House Rules.” Sorry, guys. I want to know what was said and who said it. As prelates of the Church, do you really think you should be hiding this??? Of course you do, because “transparency” was always just a weaponized word to you. You didn’t actually mean it.

Christine Firer Hinze, one of about a dozen theologians attending the event, said she found the conversations between the participating academics and bishops “heartening and hopeful.” Pointing to the willingness of the bishops to listen to the theologians’ viewpoints, Hinze called the experience an example of “servant leadership.”

“It feels more like collaboration,” said Hinze, chair of the theology department at Fordham and president of the Catholic Theological Society of America. “It doesn’t necessarily change when you go back to your own diocese, everything that’s going to happen. But at least it points in a direction.”

Again, this should strike fear in our hearts! Not shocking in the least that they would invite this babe. https://www.americamagazine.org/issue/5144/100/cross-currents I love how they’re attempting to portray the 75% of faithful bishops as disobedient to Pope Francis when they invite L.C.W.R. cheerleader and champion finger waver to the mean ol’ Vatican men. I would like to point out that even Pope Francis, the guy who they are all proclaiming to support, signed off on the Vatican investigation of the L.C.W.R. and the conclusion that they needed to be reformed.  So much for the “we’re the obedient ones” mantra.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leadership_Conference_of_Women_Religious

Beyond Rodriguez, other bishops attending the conference included Cardinals Blase Cupich, Sean O’Malley and Joseph Tobin; and Archbishops Mitchell Rozanski, John Wester, Charles Thompson and Roberto González Nieves. Also present was the Vatican’s ambassador to the U.S., Archbishop Christophe Pierre, and the undersecretary of the Vatican’s office for the Synod of Bishops, Xavière Missionary Sr. Nathalie Becquart.

The three keynote presentations at the conference were given by Villanova theologian Massimo Faggioli, Loyola Chicago theologian M. Therese Lysaught and Peruvian Archbishop Héctor Miguel Cabrejos Vidarte, who is president of the Latin American bishops’ council, commonly known as CELAM. (Cabrejos was unable to attend, so his talk was read by Archbishop González.)

No shockers here. You’d think that it might look a little suspicious to people that the head of hte USCCB is missing when talking about how the U.S. bishops are going to “move forward” but they’re so high up in their ivory towers they can’t quite see the faithful.

Among topics brought up in the panel discussions: the impact of moneyed conservative influence in Catholic social movements and media companies; polarization and division among U.S. bishops; the atmosphere of education at American seminaries, and the reluctance of some U.S. dioceses to implement the grassroots consultation process requested by Francis for the 2021-23 Synod of Bishops.”

What?! So delusional.

If they don’t want to be polarized, they really need to stop being the angry 25% of the episcopacy in the United States and jump on board with those trying revive belief in the Eucharist. They need to stop being such oppressors of the faithful. They need to stop associating with the likes of the National catholic Reporter and America Magazine – the publications of the elite. I wish they’d address the “atmosphere of education in American seminaries”, because the record up until now has been abysmal when it comes to persecuting the abused, but since most of the attendees helped with that, it’s probably not going to happen. Bring on the transparency they all call for when it’s convenient but run from when it’s them. And how about the “synodality” they all espouse? Well, I’ll say this. This little get together was a perfect example of what they really mean by synodality. This whole secret meeting was utterly disgusting. It was akin to Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and AOC getting together with the New York Times and CNN to craft their narrative and plan to take control of the Faith (and really promote a lack of it) in the United States. It’s high time the rest of the faithful prelates call them out and stop waiting until it’s too late to do something!

Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
