The Feast of the Holy Icon of the Theotokos of Pochayiv is 5 August. Here is the Troparion of the Feast:
Troparion — Tone 8O Victorious Leader, who have chosen the mountain of Pochaev as your habitation, / we, your servants, sing our grateful thanks and praise to you, O Theotokos; / for you have glorified this godly place from of old by the appearance of the healing power of your footprint and your wonderworking image. / As you once preserved your habitation from the invasion of infidels, / set us free from every calamity and invasion, / so that always preserved through your help, we may sing from the depths of our souls: / Rejoice, O Praise of Pochaev, our hope and consolation!

Our Lady miraculously saved a Ukrainian city in the 17th century when the local people joined together in prayer.
Throughout history, when a war erupts, people turn to prayer. Such was the case in Pochayiv, Ukraine, when an army came to invade a city.
In this city there is a miraculous icon of the Theotokos, having its origin in the 12th century.
In the 17th century, an army threatened to wipe out everyone in the city.
The University of Dayton‘s Marian Library explains how the local inhabitants turned to Our Lady of Pochayiv for protection.
The populace of Pochaev gathered at the monastery in order to weather the attack. Gathered together and facing certain death at the hands of the invaders, they “turned to Mary for protection and help.” The Blessed Virgin appeared along with Venerable Job of Pochaev and a host of angels. Her white mantle spread over the monastery and the arrows of the Turks were deflected. This caused enough confusion among the invaders that they scattered, allowing the Ukrainian military to turn their enemies back.
It is another example of how God can intervene in such horrible events, especially when the people join together in prayer.
