Each of us, by virtue of our Confirmation, is called to be a soldier of Christ in the Church Militant. Let us fight the good fight!

What can you and I do to fight? Let us first remember what happened in the Passion of our Lord. Pilate asked Jesus, " What is truth?" Moral relativism asks the same today of all the faithful. Jesus did not answer with, I am a way or an option or one life style among many that are all truth based on the individual. No, Jesus said that he is The Way, that he is The Truth, and that he is The Life. These are singular forms of declaration that imply explicitly that there is no other option, or way, or truth based upon individual opinion. This is no easy task and takes great courage to stand for objective truth today. Secondly, in an increasingly dark and cold world you and I are needed to be a spiritual furnace providing heat and light to the lost of this world. If we do not take a stand now for the objective truth of the Gospel, then very soon there will be no opportunity for eternity. This is exactly what the forces of evil want for you and for me. To combat moral relativism, we must share the truth and love by doing the things that demonstrate that we love others. When we feed or cloth the poor or do the things that others are not doing or will not do, like serving the homeless, or taking food, and medicine to the sick, we are by doing these things living the faith, and showing others The Way, The Truth, and The Life – Christ Jesus. Actions are a demonstration of our beliefs and faith and in doing these things we speak the truth with love, and it is actions that call attention to a God, The Creator of the universe. Love demonstrated speaks truth to power. There is no greater love than to lay your life down for another. To grow and thrive we need prayer, the sacraments and spiritual direction as well. GALF is your means to action so that you might more fully live your faith by demonstrating love to those in need. Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
