Am I a Traditionalist?

Am I a Traditionalist? By whose accounting? There are those who would say I'm not, because I attend the Novus Ordo Mass. There are those on the other side who would say I'm a rigid, hardbound Traditionalist because I prefer the Tridentine Latin Mass.

My definition of a Traditionalist? It makes not a whit of difference which Mass you attend or prefer. Whether or not you pray Fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary, as I do, or twenty.  Let's quit using labels. Let's agree that a Catholic is one who adheres to the Catholic Faith, one who can recite the Four Creeds of the Church, the Apostles, the Nicene, the Athanasian, and the Creed of the Council of Trent, with both interior and exterior assent. One who gives interior and exterior assent to the Syllabus of Errors of Blessed Pope Pius IX, and one who gives interior and exterior assent to St Pius X's Syllabus Against the Modernists and and can swear his Oath Against Modernism without perjury.

Anyone who cannot do these things is not a Catholic, but a heretic. I realise that includes many members of the laity, the clergy and the hierarchy. We should pray for their return to the Catholic Faith!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
