Bette Davis as Empress Carlota of Mexico

Just a photo for today's post, of Bette Davis as the tragic Empress of Mexico.

From The Mad Monarchist (1 April 2015)

Bette Davis as Empress Carlota of Mexico in the film "Juarez". In this scene, the tragic empress was secretly visiting a shrine to pray for the help of Our Lady of Guadalupe in having a child, both for herself and so that there would be an heir to the crown of Mexico. It was a very touching scene, very beautifully shot and very well acted. Davis was a pro.
