More YouTube Censorship

YouTube is at war against history! As Orwell put it, 'The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history', or as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said, 'To destroy a people, you must first sever their roots'.

From World War Two

In reaction to 'community complaints,' our latest War Against Humanity episode https://youtu.be/pWJV-3KB1xU has been slapped with an over 18 age restriction, a warning to viewers, taken down in priority in the recommendation engine, and only been sent as a notification to a small portion of our subscribers. While we understand that it is not YouTube's intention, this plays straight into the hands of Holocaust deniers, Wehraboos, Tankies, and other revisionists, who one would presume are part of the 'community' that is reporting the video as inappropriate. Data analytics confirm that the moment they are age-restricted, they stop growing in viewership.  We agree that not all content is appropriate for all age groups, but when this impacts the access to education about things that less and less young people know but need to know, it has gone too far. Moreover, even if it is age restricted with good reason, the reduced recommendation and notification impacts all age groups' access to the video. In some territories, for legal reasons, age-restricted videos are blocked altogether for everyone. Already that they demonetize the videos reduce their recommendation, and now it is virtually impossible to get the video to spread organically.  We have repeatedly complained to YouTube about their practice of reducing recommendation in this way and inquired after a more granular age restriction system that would, for instance, allow us to put parental guidance for under 16 on the videos. Both requests have fallen on deaf ears, the latter with the argument that policing the viewer's age is not possible - which begs the question of how they then control the age 18 restriction?  Our conclusion is that YouTube has no interest in finding a serviceable solution but is only looking to do the bare minimum to meet legal demands for youth protection. Just try to dodge the issue by restrictive policies that er on the side of legal advice's caution. In this case, an approach that impacts access to information about our past, which must not be forgotten.  To work against the effects of YouTube's policy;  Share this post Share the video and view the video (even if it's tough watching). Never forget, TimeGhost

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
