‘Anti-Greta’: German Teen to Speak About ‘Climate Realism’ at U.S. Conservative Convention CPAC

And this young lady is old enough to make up her own mind, not be told what to think by her handlers.

Naomi Seibt is being dubbed the “anti-Greta” when it comes to her skepticism to the effects of climate change.

The German teen has slowly gained a following on YouTube for her “climate realism” in stark contrast to fellow teen Greta Thunberg, the Swedish climate activist who sparked international climate protests and in 2019 was named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” for her advocacy.

While Seibt, 19, only has 51,000 followers to her video channel and 5,500 Twitter followers, that will likely change this week.

On Wednesday, Seibt will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference, the biggest annual Republican convention on the outskirts of Washington, D.C.

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to be there, along with White House officials, Trump’s re-election staff, Republican lawmakers and other conservative voices.

Seibt has acknowledged being a “climate change alarmist” while growing up, influenced by what she was taught in school and saw in the media.

“I was an innocent young girl and I thought by hugging the trees I could save the planet, which quite frankly turned out not to be true,” she said in one YouTube video.

A few years ago, she began to question Germany’s progressive immigration policies in class. The backlash she received from teachers and classmates made her skeptical about mainstream German thinking.

Although Seibt doesn’t deny greenhouse gases are warming the planet, she takes issue with alarmist rhetoric that life will be adversely affected.

“I don’t want to get people to stop believing in man-made climate change, not at all,” she told the Washington Post. “Are man-made CO2 emissions having that much impact on the climate? I think that’s ridiculous to believe.”

In December, Seibt was a featured speaker at a U.N. climate conference in Madrid for The Heartland Institute, a libertarian think tank in suburban Chicago.

It was such a success, Heartland hired her last month as a young face for their campaign to question scientific claims that there will be severe consequences if climate change is not stopped.
