Stand Alone Pages on 'Musings of an Old Curmudgeon'

My Apologies....

....to anyone who reads this blog regularly, and especially to those who count on me posting my 'regular posts' at midnight, 12:00, 13:00, 15:00, ad 19:00. As I mentioned a few days ago, this was our family Christmas weekend.

As it turned out, the only ones who could make it were our middle son, his two children, and our youngest daughter. However, we are meeting our youngest son, his wife, our unborn grandchild, and our son's in-laws for lunch tomorrow. Our oldest son recently had back surgery, so he was in no shape to drive for three hours to come up.

Today, I went with the kids and grandkids to Lincoln whilst the Cuter & Shorter Half went to work. Our daughter bought me salmiak liquorice at the liquorice store (yes, there is a liquorice store in Lincoln), we stopped at a music store for parts for the 'guitar like instrument' our son is building for his son, at a whole foods grocery where I bought grains for the pottage I eat every night before bed, and at a hardware store for soldering supplies for the 'guitar like instrument'.

We got back just in time for me to go to Mass. After I got home and ate (late, the others ate whilst I was at Church), we watched a Christmas movie, then the granddaughter, who's only five, went to bed, and the adults taught our 10 year old grandson to play poker. It's a family tradition that we have a Christmas poker game. Very small stakes. We each bought in a dollar, and our chips were worth a penny, a nickel, and a dime. Our grandson and I were the first out. I'm not sure who won, because when I lost, I came to my room to catch up here.

Because of the luncheon tomorrow, I may be late posting the daytime posts, but they will be posted. And after about 14:00, everything should be back to normal.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
