Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
Interesting. I remember watching a documentary about George Washington, where the Providence of God seemed quite obvious. It would be hard to imagine a nation more blessed by climate, land, geography, than the United States, and the unlikely series of events that led up to our founding. Apparently Washington was a pretty incredible man, who certainly must have had some divine help, because the whole thing was an unlikely enterprise. If he had a picture of Our Lady, that speaks volumes about where his heart was. I believe he was a man of deep faith.
ReplyDeleteAs far as him being a Freemason, I'm sure it's true, but I try not to judge people from prior eras. George Washington is one of my favorite presidents, along with Reagan and Trump.
