Amazon Kicks Pro-Life Organization Out of AmazonSmile Program (Using SPLC 'Hate List')!

I basically quit buying through Amazon some time ago in an effort to buy more locally and from small businesses. However, what bothers me the most about this is that Amazon has acted at the behest of the premier hate group in the US, the Southern Poverty Law Center. The SPLC claims to monitor hate groups. Fascinatingly, only conservative and traditionalist groups seem to qualify as hate groups in their estimation.

Groups on the left, like Antifa, or non-Christian groups like Islam which engage in hateful activity toward people on the right, are simply 'exercising their freedom of speech (or religion)' according to the SPLC.

The last time I checked, I was a member or supporter of several 'hate groups' according to them, including the Remnant, the Fatima Crusader, Culture Wars, and Catholic Family News!

I encourage all my readers to check them out and decide for themselves whether these are 'hate groups'.

Amazon kicked out a leading American pro-life organization from its charitable fundraising site this week based on the recommendation of a radical liberal group.
The colossal online retailer told Alliance Defending Freedom that it can no longer participate in its AmazonSmile program, which raises money for non-profit organizations, according to ADF.
What’s more, Amazon told ADF that it relied on the recommendation of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a radical pro-abortion group, in making its decision.
“ADF is one of the nation’s most respected and successful Supreme Court advocates, working to preserve our fundamental freedoms of speech, religion, and conscience for people from all walks of life,” said President, CEO and General Counsel Michael Farris. “SPLC is not a neutral watchdog organization. Instead, it raises money by slandering people and organizations who disagree with its views.”
Farris said he sent a letter to Amazon on Thursday asking for a meeting to discuss the decision.
He wrote in the letter:
Once the SPLC identifies an ideological opponent, its goal is to ruin them. As SPLC Senior Fellow Mark Potok said: “Sometimes the press will describe us as monitoring hate crimes and so on … I want to say plainly that our aim in life is to destroy these groups, to completely destroy them.” That is the group’s mindset toward those whose views it doesn’t like. Unfortunately, it is aided and abetted by businesses like Amazon that uncritically accept SPLC’s slander and use it as a basis for its own business decisions.
The SPLC has a long history of attacking pro-life advocates and organizations. Yet, pro-abortion lawmakers and, increasingly, online media giants including Google, YouTube and now Amazon are using the group’s accusations as grounds to attack and censor pro-lifers and other conservatives.
The Federalist reports more about the SPLC’s sordid reputation:
SPLC has come under fire for its shady financial practices — which includes shuttling millions of dollars to offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, and Bermuda. Tax records show the organization has stockpiled nearly a half a billion dollars in assets, which spends more money on fundraisingthan it does actual legal work. The organization, which is famous for it’s “hate list” which targets legitimate conservative or religious groups by including them on a map alongside white supremacists and other extremist groups. SPLC’s hate listinspired a gunman to shoot a guard at the Family Research Council in 2013 with the intention to kill as many people as possible after the Christian organization found itself on the infamous list.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
