The Community Supper and Feeling Old

Today was a good day for air quality which meant I had no problems breathing and I really stepped out going to and from the Community Supper. I walked past the Lutheran Church to the corner store to make a purchase and when I got back, my friend Emil said I'd gone by so fast I couldn't land!

Whilst we were eating, we got to talking about getting older as people 'of a certain age' often do. At 70, I am definitely no longer a young man, but in the conversation, I discovered that Emil is 83, almost 84, and Leonard, another friend, is 91. Leonard lives about half a block up School Street from the Church, and most Monday evenings we walk together to his house, since it's on my way home. Even on a good day, I don't have to slow down for him!

So, maybe I'm not quite as old as I sometimes feel!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
