Why No Commenters?
I realise that I'm may not be the most exciting blog out there, but really? At least leave me a comment saying you're reading it and where from.
Thanks.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
I'm a fellow "old curmudgeon" and reading you from Texas. Don't get discouraged; it takes time for a new blog to catch fire.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to take off moderation for a bit. Some people are a little put off by it. I note you are from SE Nebraska. I had the great privilege of attending the TLM in Lincoln a year ago.
ReplyDeleteI just did so. We'll see how that goes. I'm about 40 miles from St Francis of Assisi and 25 from Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary, but I no longer drive, so I attend our local Parish, but as I've pointed out, I live in the Diocese of Lincoln, so it's solid and my Pastor is orthodox.
DeleteI will try not to be envious. I am reduced to a nearly two hour drive to get to a holy mass.
DeleteAt the risk of abetting your envy, I walk two and a half blocks to my Parish Church. If you haven't you might read my post 'Being a Catholic in Wilber, Nebraska', https://musingsofanoldcurmudgeon.blogspot.com/2017/10/being-catholic-in-wilber-nebraska.html
DeleteCurmudgeon! Don't fret! Comments are rare for me too. At least right now.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to get comments is to write controversially about controversial stuff. That's what I've always found.
I've written several pieces about monarchy, democracy, and other erudite topics. Not only were the comments not there, but the views were scarce. But then, I wrote a little blurb today about Mark Shea bein' a jerk. I thought nothing of it. It's set the record for my new blog's stats, and it got the first comment of the blog.
Yes, I saw that. Haven't had a chance to read it yet. I have now linked to your new blog, as well as The Hirsch Files.
DeleteI rarely have anything worthwhile to say.
ReplyDeleteMay God bless you from southwest PA.
I mean, may he bless you from heaven, not SW PA. lol
ReplyDeleteThank you. I appreciate your prayers!
DeleteCame to your blog via Vox Cantoris. Maybe I should come here more often as a fellow monarchist. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Vox has a great blog. Mine is a bit of a potpourri Catholic, Monarchist, and literally the Musings of an Old Curmudgeon.
DeleteCompletely awesome to have discovered your site. I will make it a part of my regular surveillance !
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you find it interesting.
